Foxes - Year 1
Fire! Fire! London’s Burning!
Foxes enjoyed investigating the contents of a mystery suitcase found at the local fire station. Our super sleuths found out that the contents all linked to the Great Fire of London in 1666.
Everyone donned their White thinking hats and found out lots of facts about the fire. There was some amazing writing as we learnt about the sequence of events.
The finale of our great journey through history was an amazing exhibition for Foxes’ parents. The children showcased all of their learning including some amazing home learning of models, fire safety posters and books. The children made lift the flap questions and some incredible charcoal drawings and silhouette pictures of the buildings in the Great fire.
Well done Foxes!
Showtime
Foxes have loved researching Jack and the Beanstalk - one of the group of people the Jolly Postman delivers letters too. They found out lots about the story and made some amazing moving pictures. They used their ne found Design and Technology skills to make sliders and moving parts! They explored so many different sounds using a variety of musical instruments too. Then they made music to accompany the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. It was very loud but lots of fun and they learnt how to play at different paces and pitches. Enjoy looking at our pictures!
Welcome Fantastic Foxes!
The Foxes have enjoyed learning all about year one. They have written books about how special they all are and drew some amazing self-portraits! Having read Elmer stories they made their own patchwork Fox too. Take a look!
